Vier Lehrreden darüber, Form usw. nicht unmittelbar zu erfahren
In Sāvatthī.
Da ging der Wanderer Vacchagotta zum Buddha und tauschte Willkommensgrüße mit ihm aus. weil man Gefühl nicht unmittelbar erfährt … weil man Wahrnehmung nicht unmittelbar erfährt … weil man Willensbildungsprozesse nicht unmittelbar erfährt …“ Nach der Begrüßung und dem Austausch von Höflichkeiten setzte er sich zur Seite hin und sagte zum Buddha:
„Was ist der Grund, werter Gotama, was ist die Ursache, dass diese verschiedenen Arten von Irrglauben in der Welt erscheinen …?“
„Vaccha, es ist, weil man Form nicht unmittelbar erfährt …

Sāvatthinidānaṁ.
Atha kho vacchagotto paribbājako yena bhagavā tenupasaṅkami; upasaṅkamitvā bhagavatā saddhiṁ sammodi. “Vedanāya kho, vaccha, appaccakkhakammā …pe… vedanānirodhagāminiyā paṭipadāya appaccakkhakammā …pe…. “Saññāya kho, vaccha, appaccakkhakammā …pe… saññānirodhagāminiyā paṭipadāya appaccakkhakammā …pe…. “Saṅkhāresu kho, vaccha, appaccakkhakammā …pe… saṅkhāranirodhagāminiyā paṭipadāya appaccakkhakammā …pe…. Sammodanīyaṁ kathaṁ sāraṇīyaṁ vītisāretvā ekamantaṁ nisīdi. Ekamantaṁ nisinno kho vacchagotto paribbājako bhagavantaṁ etadavoca:
