Nichts kommt einem Kind gleich
In Sāvatthī.
Als sie sich zur Seite hingestellt hatte, sagte diese Gottheit in Gegenwart des Buddha diese Strophe auf:
„Keine Zuneigung gleicht der zum eigenen Kind, kein Vermögen gleicht dem Vieh, kein Licht kommt dem Licht der Sonne gleich, und von allen Seen ist das Meer unerreicht.“
„Keine Zuneigung gleicht der zu sich selbst, kein Vermögen gleicht dem Getreide, kein Licht kommt dem Licht der Weisheit gleich, und von allen Seen ist der Regen unerreicht.“
There’s Nothing Like a Child
At Sāvatthī.
Standing to one side, that deity spoke this verse in the Buddha’s presence:
“There’s no fondness like that for a child, no wealth equal to cattle, no light like that of the sun, and of lakes the ocean is paramount.”
“There’s no fondness like that for oneself, no wealth equal to grain, no light like that of wisdom, and of waters the rain is paramount.”
Natthiputtasamasutta
Sāvatthinidānaṁ.
Ekamantaṁ ṭhitā kho sā devatā bhagavato santike imaṁ gāthaṁ abhāsi:
“Natthi puttasamaṁ pemaṁ, natthi gosamitaṁ dhanaṁ; Natthi sūriyasamā ābhā, samuddaparamā sarā”ti.
“Natthi attasamaṁ pemaṁ, natthi dhaññasamaṁ dhanaṁ; Natthi paññāsamā ābhā, vuṭṭhi ve paramā sarā”ti.
