5. Das fünfte Kapitel
Geben
Das wurde vom Buddha, dem Vollendeten, gesagt; das habe ich gehört:
„Mönche und Nonnen, es gibt diese beiden Gaben: die Gabe von fleischlichen Dingen und die Gabe der Lehre. Die bessere der beiden ist die Gabe der Lehre.
Es gibt diese beiden Arten des Teilens: Teilen von fleischlichen Dingen und Teilen der Lehre. Die bessere der beiden ist das Teilen der Lehre.
Es gibt diese beiden Arten der Unterstützung: Unterstützung bei fleischlichen Dingen und Unterstützung bei der Lehre. Die bessere der beiden ist die Unterstützung bei der Lehre.“
Der Buddha sprach diese Sache. Dazu wird gesagt:
„Es ist die höchste, unübertreffliche Gabe, und das Teilen wird vom Buddha gepriesen; welcher weise und vernünftige Mensch, der Zuversicht zum besten Feld hat, würde nicht zur rechten Zeit eine solche Gabe säen?
Für die, die Zuversicht zum Lehrsystem des Heiligen haben, die im Lehrsystem des Heiligen beflissen sind, für die, die sprechen, und für die, die zuhören, läutert eine solche Gabe das höchste Ziel.“
Auch das ist eine Sache, die vom Gesegneten gesprochen wurde: Das habe ich gehört.
Chapter Five
Giving
This was said by the Buddha, the Perfected One: that is what I heard.
“There are, mendicants, these two gifts. A gift of things of the flesh and a gift of the teaching. The better of these two gifts is the gift of the teaching.
There are these two kinds of sharing. Sharing things of the flesh and sharing the teaching. The better of these two kinds of sharing is sharing the teaching.
There are these two kinds of support. Support in things of the flesh and support in the teaching. The better of these two kinds of support is support in the teaching.”
The Buddha spoke this matter. On this it is said:
“It is said to be the supreme, ultimate gift, and the sharing praised by the Buddha; what wise and sensible person, <j>confident in the best of fields, would not sow a such timely gift?
For those who are diligent <j>in the dispensation of the Holy One, both those who speak and those who listen, confident in the dispensation of the Holy One, such a gift purifies the highest goal.”
This too is a matter that was spoken by the Blessed One: that is what I heard.
Pañcamavagga
Dānasutta
Vuttañhetaṁ bhagavatā vuttamarahatāti me sutaṁ:
“Dvemāni, bhikkhave, dānāni— āmisadānañca dhammadānañca. Etadaggaṁ, bhikkhave, imesaṁ dvinnaṁ dānānaṁ yadidaṁ dhammadānaṁ.
Dveme, bhikkhave, saṁvibhāgā— āmisasaṁvibhāgo ca dhammasaṁvibhāgo ca. Etadaggaṁ, bhikkhave, imesaṁ dvinnaṁ saṁvibhāgānaṁ yadidaṁ dhammasaṁvibhāgo.
Dveme, bhikkhave, anuggahā— āmisānuggaho ca dhammānuggaho ca. Etadaggaṁ, bhikkhave, imesaṁ dvinnaṁ anuggahānaṁ yadidaṁ dhammānuggaho”ti.
Etamatthaṁ bhagavā avoca. Tatthetaṁ iti vuccati:
“Yamāhu dānaṁ paramaṁ anuttaraṁ, Yaṁ saṁvibhāgaṁ bhagavā avaṇṇayi; Aggamhi khettamhi pasannacitto, Viññū pajānaṁ ko na yajetha kāle.
Ye ceva bhāsanti suṇanti cūbhayaṁ, Pasannacittā sugatassa sāsane; Tesaṁ so attho paramo visujjhati, Ye appamattā sugatassa sāsane”ti.
Ayampi attho vutto bhagavatā, iti me sutanti.
