2. Das zweite Kapitel
Gier (1)
Das wurde vom Buddha, dem Vollendeten, gesagt; das habe ich gehört:
„Von jedem, der Gier, Hass und Täuschung nicht aufgegeben hat, heißt es, er stecke in der Falle. Er ist in Māras Schlinge gefangen, und der Böse kann mit ihm machen, was er will. Von jedem, der Gier, Hass und Täuschung aufgegeben hat, heißt es, er sei freigekommen. Er ist von Māras Schlinge befreit, und der Böse kann mit ihm nicht machen, was er will.“
Der Buddha sprach diese Sache. Dazu wird gesagt:
„Die, bei denen Gier, Hass und Unwissenheit geschwunden sind, gehören zu denen, die entwickelt sind; eine Manifestation der Göttlichkeit, klar geworden, erwacht, über Feindschaft und Furcht hinausgegangen – sie haben alles aufgegeben, so heißt es.“
Auch das ist eine Sache, die vom Gesegneten gesprochen wurde: Das habe ich gehört.
Chapter Two
Greed (1st)
This was said by the Buddha, the Perfected One: that is what I heard.
“Whoever has not given up greed, hate, and delusion is said to be trapped. They’re caught in Māra’s snare, and the Wicked One can do with them what he wants. Whoever has given up greed, hate, and delusion is said to be free. They’re released from Māra’s snare, and the Wicked One cannot do with them what he wants.”
The Buddha spoke this matter. On this it is said:
“Those in whom greed, hate, and ignorance have faded away, belong with those who are evolved; A manifestation of divinity, realized, awakened, beyond enmity and fear, they’ve given up everything, they say.”
This too is a matter that was spoken by the Blessed One: that is what I heard.
Dutiyavagga
Paṭhamarāgasutta
Vuttañhetaṁ bhagavatā vuttamarahatāti me sutaṁ:
“Yassa kassaci, bhikkhave, rāgo appahīno, doso appahīno, moho appahīno— ayaṁ vuccati, bhikkhave, ‘baddho mārassa paṭimukkassa mārapāso yathākāmakaraṇīyo pāpimato’. Yassa kassaci, bhikkhave, rāgo pahīno, doso pahīno, moho pahīno— ayaṁ vuccati, bhikkhave, ‘abaddho mārassa omukkassa mārapāso na yathākāmakaraṇīyo pāpimato’”ti.
Etamatthaṁ bhagavā avoca. Tatthetaṁ iti vuccati:
“Yassa rāgo ca doso ca, avijjā ca virājitā; Taṁ bhāvitattaññataraṁ, brahmabhūtaṁ tathāgataṁ; Buddhaṁ verabhayātītaṁ, āhu sabbappahāyinan”ti.
Ayampi attho vutto bhagavatā, iti me sutanti.
