2. Das zweite Kapitel
Spaltung des Saṅgha
Das wurde vom Buddha, dem Vollendeten, gesagt; das habe ich gehört:
„Ein Ding, Mönche und Nonnen, erscheint in der Welt zum Schaden und Unglück vieler Menschen, gegen das Volk, zum Unheil, Schaden und Leiden von Göttern und Menschen. Welches eine Ding? Eine Spaltung des Saṅgha. Wenn der Saṅgha gespalten ist, streiten sie, beleidigen und blockieren einander und geben einander auf. Das weckt keine Zuversicht bei denen mit mangelnder Zuversicht, und bei manchen Zuversichtlichen führt es dazu, dass sie ihre Meinung ändern.“
Der Buddha sprach diese Sache. Dazu wird gesagt:
„Ein Ordensspalter bleibt ein Äon lang an einem verlorenen Ort, in der Hölle. Wenn er sich gegen die Lehre stellt und Splittergruppen bevorzugt, richtet er sein Refugium zugrunde. Wenn er einen einträchtigen Saṅgha gespalten hat, brennt er ein Äon lang in der Hölle.“
Auch das ist eine Sache, die vom Gesegneten gesprochen wurde: Das habe ich gehört.
Chapter Two
Schism in the Saṅgha
This was said by the Buddha, the Perfected One: that is what I heard.
“One thing, mendicants, arises in the world for the detriment and suffering of the people, against the people, for the harm, detriment, and suffering of gods and humans. What one thing? Schism in the Saṅgha. When the Saṅgha is split, they argue, insult, block, and forsake each other. This doesn’t inspire confidence in those without it, and it causes some with confidence to change their minds.”
The Buddha spoke this matter. On this it is said:
“A schismatic remains for the eon in a place of loss, in hell. Taking a stand against the teaching, favoring factions, they ruin their sanctuary. After causing schism in a harmonious Saṅgha, they burn in hell for an eon.”
This too is a matter that was spoken by the Blessed One: that is what I heard.
Dutiyavagga
Saṅghabhedasutta
Vuttañhetaṁ bhagavatā vuttamarahatāti me sutaṁ:
“Ekadhammo, bhikkhave, loke uppajjamāno uppajjati bahujanāhitāya bahujanāsukhāya bahuno janassa anatthāya ahitāya dukkhāya devamanussānaṁ. Katamo ekadhammo? Saṅghabhedo. Saṅghe kho pana, bhikkhave, bhinne aññamaññaṁ bhaṇḍanāni ceva honti, aññamaññaṁ paribhāsā ca honti, aññamaññaṁ parikkhepā ca honti, aññamaññaṁ pariccajanā ca honti. Tattha appasannā ceva nappasīdanti, pasannānañca ekaccānaṁ aññathattaṁ hotī”ti.
Etamatthaṁ bhagavā avoca. Tatthetaṁ iti vuccati:
“Āpāyiko nerayiko, Kappaṭṭho saṅghabhedako; Vaggārāmo adhammaṭṭho, Yogakkhemā padhaṁsati; Saṅghaṁ samaggaṁ bhetvāna, Kappaṁ nirayamhi paccatī”ti.
Ayampi attho vutto bhagavatā, iti me sutanti.
