2. Das zweite Kapitel
In Schulung (1)
Das wurde vom Buddha, dem Vollendeten, gesagt; das habe ich gehört:
„Wenn ich innere Faktoren betrachte, Mönche und Nonnen, sehe ich keinen einzigen, der für einen Mönch in Schulung, der seinen Herzenswunsch noch nicht erfüllt hat, aber so lebt, dass er nach dem unübertrefflichen Refugium vor dem Joch strebt, so eine große Hilfe ist wie wohlüberlegter Gebrauch des Geistes. Ein Mönch, der den Geist wohlüberlegt gebraucht, gibt das Untaugliche auf und entwickelt das Taugliche.“
Der Buddha sprach diese Sache. Dazu wird gesagt:
„Nichts ist für einen Mönch in Schulung, der nach dem äußersten Ziel strebt, eine so große Hilfe wie wohlüberlegter Gebrauch des Geistes. Ein Mönch, der sich wohlüberlegt müht, erreicht die Auflösung des Leidens.“
Auch das ist eine Sache, die vom Gesegneten gesprochen wurde: Das habe ich gehört.
Chapter Two
A Trainee (1st)
This was said by the Buddha, the Perfected One: that is what I heard.
“Taking into account interior factors, mendicants, I do not see a single one that is so very helpful as rational application of mind for a trainee mendicant who hasn’t achieved their heart’s desire, but lives aspiring to the supreme sanctuary from the yoke. A mendicant rationally applying the mind gives up the unskillful and develops the skillful.”
The Buddha spoke this matter. On this it is said:
“There is nothing so helpful for a trainee mendicant aspiring for the ultimate goal as rational application of mind. Striving rationally, a mendicant attains the end of suffering.”
This too is a matter that was spoken by the Blessed One: that is what I heard.
Dutiyavagga
Paṭhamasekhasutta
Vuttañhetaṁ bhagavatā vuttamarahatāti me sutaṁ:
“Sekhassa, bhikkhave, bhikkhuno appattamānasassa anuttaraṁ yogakkhemaṁ patthayamānassa viharato ajjhattikaṁ aṅganti karitvā nāññaṁ ekaṅgampi samanupassāmi yaṁ evaṁ bahūpakāraṁ yathayidaṁ, bhikkhave, yoniso manasikāro. Yoniso, bhikkhave, bhikkhu manasi karonto akusalaṁ pajahati, kusalaṁ bhāvetī”ti.
Etamatthaṁ bhagavā avoca. Tatthetaṁ iti vuccati:
“Yonisomanasikāro, dhammo sekhassa bhikkhuno; Natthañño evaṁ bahukāro, uttamatthassa pattiyā; Yoniso padahaṁ bhikkhu, khayaṁ dukkhassa pāpuṇe”ti.
Ayampi attho vutto bhagavatā, iti me sutanti.
