13. Kusināravagga
Das Gotamaka-Heiligtum
Einmal hielt sich der Buddha bei Vesālī auf, beim Gotamaka-Heiligtum. Da wandte sich der Buddha an die Mönche und Nonnen: „Mönche und Nonnen!“
„Ehrwürdiger Herr“, antworteten sie. Der Buddha sagte:
„Mönche und Nonnen, ich lehre auf der Grundlage von unmittelbarer Einsicht, nicht ohne unmittelbare Einsicht. Ich lehre begründet, nicht unbegründet. Ich lehre mit einer beweisbaren Grundlage, nicht ohne beweisbare Grundlage. Da das so ist, sollt ihr meiner Unterweisung und Anleitung folgen. Das genügt, dass ihr froh, entzückt und glücklich seid: ‚Der Gesegnete ist ein vollkommen erwachter Buddha! Die Lehre ist gut erklärt! Der Saṅgha übt gut!‘“
Das sagte der Buddha. Zufrieden begrüßten die Mönche und Nonnen die Worte des Buddha. Und während diese Lehrrede vorgetragen wurde, bebte die tausendfache Galaxie.
The Gotamaka Shrine
At one time the Buddha was staying near Vesālī, at the Gotamaka Shrine. There the Buddha addressed the mendicants, “Mendicants!”
“Venerable sir,” they replied. The Buddha said this:
“Mendicants, I teach based on direct knowledge, not without direct knowledge. I teach with reasons, not without them. I teach with a demonstrable basis, not without it. Since this is so, you should follow my advice and instruction. This is enough for you to feel joyful, delighted, and happy: ‘The Blessed One is a fully awakened Buddha! The teaching is well explained! The Saṅgha is practicing well!’”
That is what the Buddha said. Satisfied, the mendicants approved what the Buddha said. And while this discourse was being spoken, the thousandfold galaxy shook.
Gotamakacetiyasutta
Ekaṁ samayaṁ bhagavā vesāliyaṁ viharati gotamake cetiye. Tatra kho bhagavā bhikkhū āmantesi: “bhikkhavo”ti.
“Bhadante”ti te bhikkhū bhagavato paccassosuṁ. Bhagavā etadavoca:
“Abhiññāyāhaṁ, bhikkhave, dhammaṁ desemi, no anabhiññāya. Sanidānāhaṁ, bhikkhave, dhammaṁ desemi, no anidānaṁ. Sappāṭihāriyāhaṁ, bhikkhave, dhammaṁ desemi, no appāṭihāriyaṁ. Tassa mayhaṁ, bhikkhave, abhiññāya dhammaṁ desayato no anabhiññāya, sanidānaṁ dhammaṁ desayato no anidānaṁ, sappāṭihāriyaṁ dhammaṁ desayato no appāṭihāriyaṁ, karaṇīyo ovādo, karaṇīyā anusāsanī. Alañca pana vo, bhikkhave, tuṭṭhiyā, alaṁ attamanatāya, alaṁ somanassāya: ‘sammāsambuddho bhagavā, svākkhāto dhammo, suppaṭipanno saṅgho’”ti.
Idamavoca bhagavā. Attamanā te bhikkhū bhagavato bhāsitaṁ abhinandunti. Imasmiñca pana veyyākaraṇasmiṁ bhaññamāne sahassī lokadhātu akampitthāti.
